Academics Pre-K–12

Students who attend WCLC grow in faith and godly character through our Christian-based academic program.

pre-K (Half-day)

Each day shifts between Bible, shapes, phonics, math, language arts, crafts, and even homework, bringing a wealth of new and exciting information that will engage young minds. Colorful pages will hold children's interest as they work the large-print problems; the exercises will stretch thinking skills as they complete both creative assignments and factual problems.

Through biblically-based lessons, preschoolers will be introduced to social studies, language arts, math, phonics, science, health and safety, arts and crafts, music, and physical education. The hands-on activities are perfect for little bodies, while concepts are reinforced through games, songs, poems, and drama to prepare your preschooler for kindergarten-type games.

Our all-day kindergarten program builds upon what the children learned in preschool with the “ABC’s of ACE Learn to Read” program, a full-color phonics curriculum that students progress through based on the mastery principle. Kindergarteners enjoy hands-on learning activities as they develop reading and math skills through art, music, and movement in a Christian environment.

Students in the first through twelfth grades use the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum. ACE breaks down the conventional textbook style and divides it into individualized learning tools called PACES (Personal Accountability Character Enhancement Series). Each PACE is a bite-sized, achievable, worktext that equates to a chapter in a textbook.

Each grade level includes 12 PACES in each subject and integrates scripture, Biblical truths, and Christian character traits. Students begin at their performance level and progress through the mastery program, which is designed to continually teach new concepts while building reading skills.
